COW PIE CORRAL-IT HAPPENS
Recent Events and Meeting Highlights HCCW
recently had a horse group entry in the Rhododendron Parade April 24th. Cass Doss and Karen Wilson got flags,
including a new Humboldt County Cattlewoman flag for the ladies to display in the parade. We haven't had a mounted
group ride in any parade for quite a few years. At the Rhody Parade, our group won trophies for Best Parade Horse,
Best Behaved Horse Group, and Best Mounted Group. The ladies that helped coordinate or rode in the parade are as follows.
Cass Doss, Karen Wilson, Terrie Ridenhour, Anne Mobley, Susan Combes, Maggie Acuna, Amy Dinsmore, Linda Vance, (riders);
Karen Dinsmore (rider, but was sick), Travis Dinsmore and Duane Primefure, (transporting vehicles) and Wanda Wahlund took
photos that will be posted on the web site soon. The Cattlewomen will be kicking off our tri tip booth season
for this summer starting with the Oyster Festival, then Fortuna Rodeo and Quad races, Apple Harvest. We will
have the Red Barn open during the Humboldt County Fair. HCCW has also donated money to fund the Beef
carcass ultrasound as a learning tool at the Humboldt County Fair. Our group has been donating books
to the 42 grammer schools in Humboldt County and going to as many schools as possible to read aloud to the kids.
Upcoming Events-2009 The next HCCW meeting will be June 19th, 6:30 pm at the Ferndale Fairgrounds Board Room
The
Oyster Festival tri tip booth will be June 19th. We will also be selling cookies and will have a Father's Day
drawing for a cooked tri tip. If you can help, contact Susan Combes or Cass Doss Quad Races

Appreciation Thanks in advance to all of you who will help with our tri tip booths
this year. The money earned in these booths funds our scholarships, donations, education and other beef promotion activities
throughout the year. We continue to appreciate all of our members who take time out of their busy schedules to
work at the events.
